To this day, Indigenous Australians preserve and pass down history through intricate song, dance, art and stories of The Dreaming. The Song Lines are an oral tradition, an ancient memory code deeply tied to the Australian landscape. They would use the landscape as a guide to pass on important knowledge, cultural values and wisdom.

The Fifth Element is a 7-day journey that’s like going back in time, before 1788, meeting Aboriginal knowledge holders and custodians all the way. Meet the Traditional Owners and experience a true connection to Country when you travel a similar route to what is known as the  Emu Song Lines from the east coast, La Perouse to outback NSW, Gundabooka National Park and Brewarrina.

Day 1 – La Perouse / Blue Mountains / Mudgee

0500 Depart Sydney’s Central Station by coach for La Perouse for the opening sunrise ceremony. After breakfast, continue to the Blue Mountains for a cultural bush immersion followed by lunch. Arrive in Mudgee later in the day, where you'll check into your hotel before enjoying a welcome dinner at Warikirri by Indigiearth.

Day 2 – Nyngan / Byrock

0900 Depart Mudgee for Nyngan. Explore the Winangali Bush Tucker Walk, then continue to Byrock for an immersive experience of the Byrock The Rock Holes with a local custodian. Feel the energy of this sacred space as you learn about Baiame’s footprint and the deep cultural significance of this site in language, culture, and lore. Afterward, check into your motel or cabin before dinner.

Day 3 – Gundabooka National Park

0900 Depart Byrock for Gundabooka for a Rock Art tour and special landscape discovery. Accommodation is at a homestead by the river with plenty of sky for star gazing and storytelling.

Day 4 – Gundabooka National Park

1000 Depart homestead for the day to hike The Valley of The Eagles (5.7k Grade 5) and picnic lunch. Enjoy more star gazing and storytelling after dinner.

Day 5 – Brewarrina / Coonabarabran

0700 – Depart from Gundabooka and head to Brewarrina for a guided tour of the Museum and the ancient Fish Traps. These Fish Traps are the oldest known man-made structures, remarkably well-preserved to this day. With a local guide, explore the town of Brewarrina, including its well-preserved Mission Site. Continue the journey to Coonabarabran via the Pilliga Artesian Bore hot springs for a therapeutic plunge before a hearty country style dinner. Coonabarabran is known as the capital of Australian astronomy because it has zero light pollution and is home to the nations first Dark Sky Park.
